Microstructure Analysis

The microstructure of a material influences its physical properties in many ways. Phase composition, texture, residual stress, grain size, pore size, layer thickness and density are - among others - parameters, which play a key role for the performance and power consumption of up to date semiconductor chips. At Fraunhofer CNT several methods are available to analyze many of the fundamental characteristics.
